Arthur George Roberts McKinsley (1922-1944)

Stoker Arthur George Roberts McKinsley was born on September 18, 1922. Apparently, he tried to sign up to the RAF at the age of 16, but they told him to come back when he was 18. He next went to the army, where he lied about his age. They caught up with him a few weeks or months later and booted him out. Shortly after that, he tried the RN. By that time he was of age. Arthur had married on his last leave prior going out with the Cap d’Antifer. Tragically, his young wife was pregnant when the Cap D’Antifer was lost.
